Elizabeth Arden Retinol Ceramide Capsules

A few weeks back I shared a look into my updated skincare routine, including the tried and true beauty products I've been using forever and also some of the newer ones! You might remember that in that post were these Elizabeth Arden Retinol Capsules, which I had just started using, and that I promised I would review after using them for at least a month. Well as promised, this post is dedicated to them, and in a few short words, I am loving this product!

Retinol has long been the gold standard of anti-aging skincare products, but to be honest I didn't know how or if it fit into my skincare regimen at twenty five years old. Part of me felt like I was too young for retinol, but the more I looked into it, the more I realized that there is no such thing as being too young to start taking care of your skin. It's not about waiting until the wrinkles or sun damage creep up, but instead it's all about prevention. So with that being said, I realized I had nothing to lose, but everything to gain from starting to incorporate retinol into my skincare routine!

As I said earlier, I am loving this retinol serum for a number of reasons. I have so many good things to say! I'll keep it short, sweet, and to the point - here we go! First of all, I love that the serum comes in one use capsules, so there is no guessing on how much to use. This not only gives you exactly how much you need, but also limits wasting precious serum. It's a win-win! The capsule provides enough to cover my entire face and neck which I think is the perfect amount.

Secondly, the serum itself is soooo luxurious. I literally look forward to putting it on my face at night because it feels so silky and amazing. I don't know how else to describe it! The serum applies so smoothly and is quickly absorbed by the skin, leaving no residue or heaviness after use. I have used a few different serums for a variety of different reasons, but this one is by far my favorite as far as application goes!

This was the first time I have ever used a retinol product, so initially I was a little bit worried that the serum would be too drying (as retinol has the potential to be), but I have had zero problems with dryness since I started using this serum. What makes this serum different is that it also contains ceramides, which boost moisture, and I think are a key factor in preventing over drying of the skin. Who knew retinol and ceramides make such a dynamic duo!

As far as the results of using this serum, or changes in my skin, in all honesty I can't say that there have been changes that are night and day in regards to wrinkles, because simply put, I am only twenty five & my skin still reflects that. However, at the end of the day I feel good knowing I am taking the right steps to help prevent any future wrinkles. It is much easier to prevent the signs or again than it is to reverse them!

I will say, I feel like my skin looks better than ever. I of course still get the occasional breakout and still have days I look tired, but all in all I feel like my skin's tone, texture, and radiance are at an all time high. I get compliment's quite often these days on how nice of skin I have, and I attribute it a lot to putting in the effort to take good care of it! This isn't to say that there is one product I use that is solely responsible for this, but I think instead it's the result of a skincare routine that works best for me and my skincare needs.

Regardless, I think it is safe to say that these retinol capsules have made a home for themselves not only in my medicine cabinet, but also in my skincare routine! They are not going anywhere anytime soon, and I am excited to continue to see the benefits of introducing retinol into my regimen. If you are questioning introducing retinol products into your routine, I say go for it. These capsules are the perfect place to start!

  4. Please keep in mind that all these oils have many attributes, and this is by no means a complete list of essential oils. I've picked these oils for their relaxing, sensual, or refreshing qualities. An asterisk after an entry means that that particular essential oil is not recommended for use during pregnancy.

  7. CBD drops and capsules may be a good place to start if you’re considering using CBD oil. Both are discreet and will last for a few hours (likely long enough to last through your workout).  https://www.weednews.co/best-cbd-oil/
