The End of a Decade

A few weeks back, I sat on my work break at four am and blissfully went through my end of the year Spotify playlist. As I sat there smiling, walking down memory lane of the past year, it suddenly dawned on me - on December 31st we are not just saying goodbye to the year but to an entire decade.

Woah.

Gift Guide for Her

When seeking inspiration for my twenty nineteen gift guide for her, I kept finding myself drawn to the things that I love so much. Oftentimes I feel that some of the best gifts are the things that bring you joy - if they bring joy to you personally, there is a good chance someone else on your list will find joy in them as well!

Little Luxuries

Today's post is a fun one featuring gifts that, although little, are not lacking in luxury! What I like about this gift guide, is it showcases gifts that your friends & family will love, but might not ever purchase for themselves. Is there anything better than treating your loved ones to something fabulous!?  I for one don't think so. I hope this gift guide helps you navigate little luxuries for all the loved ones in your life this holiday season!

On My List

Today is the start of my holiday gift guides (yay!), and I thought what better way to kick it off than by sharing my very own Christmas list! I don't believe I've done this in the past but thought it would be fun to share the items that I'm asking for from Santa. I've got my eye on this beautiful Jo Malone Scent, delicate lace set, and fresh pair of kicks for the new year... among other things of course! I hope you find some shopping inspiration in not only this gift guide, but in the ones that are to follow!

26 Things About Me

In honor of turning 26 this month, I thought it would be fun to share 26 things about me. So without further adieu, here are some fun facts you may or may not know about me. Enjoy!

Pretty in Pink

I'm not one to say anyone, myself included, needs anything, but these pretty pink coats are making me rethink that.. aren't they dreamy! I kind of feel like I do need one of these pretties in my life. Don't you!? Slipping on one of these would definitely make every day feel a little more glamorous, and as we embark on the the long months of winter ahead, I will gladly take all the glam I can get!

Curating a Fresh Wardrobe for Fall

I think I speak for many when I say fall is one of my favorite seasons to shop & dress for. As far as fall in the Northeast goes, you get a little bit of everything - it could be 90 degrees one day and 60 the next (hello October in NYC), or it could snow - you never really know! It's always a little unpredictable, but that's also what makes it kind of great. A well put together fall wardrobe is made up of a little bit of everything, from dresses to sweaters, denim to leather, and mules to boots.

As the seasons have changed, so has my mindset in regards to how I want to shop for not only this season, but all to come. I've had a shift in how I want to curate my seasonal wardrobes from here on out. My plan moving forward is to be more mindful and selective about the pieces I am purchasing, and to select timeless, quality pieces that I will reach for again and again. It is my hope that these pieces will have a place in my wardrobe for years to come! Selecting classic, versatile pieces allows for a ton of creativity when putting together looks & the options are truly endless.

Hello October

Hello again! I always forget how busy & jam packed (in the best possible ways) summer is! This summer was one for the books - many beach days, time with family and friends, R&R, and all the good things that come along with the summer months. It's always hard to part with summer but this rings especially true after a summer as great as this past one was!

A Letter to my Darling Sister

Baby Sis - you did it! Although you will always be my baby sister, you are far from little anymore. Smart, beautiful, kind, and adventurous only scratches the surface of everything you are. The world is lucky to have you and a better place because you are in it - I mean that with my entire heart. You are going to go out into the world and do amazing things. I am sure of it.

But first, the trip of a lifetime

Summer Sleepwear

SHOP THIS LOOK

Over the past few years I've become a big fan of sleepwear - more specifically of pretty matching pajama sets. The days of wearing mismatched, old, ratty lounge wear to bed are no longer, and nothing makes me happier than slipping into a nice pair of pajamas at the end of a long day. Something about putting on a pretty, soft set of pajamas makes me feel instantly feel more relaxed and put together. It's a little luxury that I look forward to every night!

July Wishlist!

Almost halfway through July, but better late than never! My July wishlist highlights all the things I am gravitating to in the heart of summer. Lots of light, flowy pieces, an airy color palette, and tons of neutral accessories to pull it all together. Easy and breezy - without sacrificing style - just as summer should be!

July Fourth Style Inspo

We did it! We made it to the best month & best holiday week (popular opinion, or just me!?). Either way, who doesn't love a few summer days off to celebrate with family and friends, soak in some sun by the water, and indulge in all that summer has to offer!? I am so looking forward to it.

Summer Style Essentials

With summer officially here, I've been thinking a lot about my wardrobe - both about what I have and don't have, what I need and don't need - essentially all about what the essentials are for summer. Summer is my favorite for many reasons, but one of them being it is my favorite season to shop and dress for. The clothes I wear in summer are the best reflection of me at my happiest self, whether that be in denim cutoffs & a white tee, a bathing suit, or a flowy maxi dress.

Summer 2019 Bucket List

Happy first day of summer everyone!! As I sit here and write this post, I am coming to the realization that this day, June 21st, is honestly one of my favorite days of the year. Of course as the first day of summer this may seem obvious, I mean who doesn't love today, but I really think it makes my top three favorite days of the year.

What I Wore in California

Instead of my usual pre-travel packing list post, I thought I would switch things up a bit and share what I actually wore on my trip. I still love a good packing list post, but thought it would be fun to see how the looks all came together after the fact! Truth be told, some pieces I pack for trips end up staying in my suitcase for whatever reason, so this post is a true reflection of what actually got worn!

This deemed particularly true this past trip out west! So much of what I packed sadly never got worn, not because I didn't want to, but more so because the weather was not quite what I had bargained for. As you will see in the photo's below, I often found myself wearing for all the layers and my jean jacket was never far. Needless to say it was chillier than anticipated! Keep that in mind if you ever find yourself traveling to the Bay Area - my biggest recommendation would be to pack pieces that mix & match easily and are good for layering!

So without further adieu, here is everything I wore out in California last month! Well almost everything... everything meaning the looks I was able to snap a pic in, enjoy!

June Wishlist!

How are we already a week into June!? When did that happen! The past month has been a busy one, with a lot of fun travel (more to come on that!) After ten days out on the west coast, I am happy to be back in my favorite city and settling back into the swing of things! Summer is right around the corner and it is definitely starting to feel like that around here! I cannot wait.

Mother's Day Gift Inspiration

Mother's Day is right around the corner, can you believe it!? I don't know about anyone else, but May certainly crept up on me. I can't believe Mother's day is next weekend - before we know it it will be Memorial Day and we will be welcoming back summer!

If you need a little bit of inspiration to help you find the perfect gift for the mothers in your life, this post is for you. There is something for everyone, and all those special mamas out there deserve something sweet! To all the moms out there, I hope you have the most perfect weekend celebrating with the ones you love, enjoy!

Three Days in Charleston!

TRAVEL DAY

Depending on when you are traveling in, this day could be either a full day or just half a day! If it's a full day, skip ahead to day one below!

If it's only half the day or the evening, then I would suggest spending the day checking into your hotel (I will forever recommend The Dewberry - see more in this post), getting settled, unpacking, and then freshening up before heading to grab a bite to eat! For dinner, or a late lunch on your first day in Charleston I would recommend Leon's Oyster Shop!

Leon's is the perfect place to kick off your stay in Charleston. It's casual, cool atmosphere and really good food are ideal for unwinding after a day of travel. Get the fried chicken sandwich - you can thank me later!

Where to Eat in Charleston!

On my first trip to Charleston about a year ago, one of the most pleasant surprises about the trip was the incredible food scene. I had heard good things & had picked up restaurant recommendations here and there, but I had no idea just how big of a food scene Charleston had. Not only are there so many restaurants, but they are all so good & come highly recommended!

During that first trip there last year, I didn't have one bad meal and came home raving about the food to anyone who would listen! Needless to say, when I headed back to Charleston a couple of weeks ago, I was beyond excited to eat my heart out at both new to me restaurants and also a few I had loved last time. Thank god my girlfriend who I was traveling with is just as big of a foodie as I am - we took full advantage of everything Charleston's restaurant scene had to offer. To say we indulged in amazing food would be an understatement!

What I Brought to Charleston

This week on the blog is all about my favorite southern city Charleston! To kick off this week's content, I'm sharing everything I brought to Charleston with me on my second trip back two weeks ago. I love packing and planning outfits for any trip, but was extra excited about packing for Charleston because it meant breaking out spring clothing! After what felt like the longest winter, I was beyond excited to break out sundresses, sandals, and all the spring things. Packing them was excitement on it's own, but getting to wear them upon arriving to Charleston was a whole other level of happiness!

April Wishlist!

Happy April! I know I'm a little behind in getting this post up, but better late than never! I am so excited that it is finally April and we are officially past any lingering winter days. At this point in this season it feels like summer isn't that far off!

The Best Swimwear of 2019

We are quickly approaching summer, which means it's just about beach season (!!!). If you couldn't tell, I can hardly wait any longer. Although it doesn't feel anywhere close to beach weather in New England, now really is the time to stock up on swim! The truth is, if you wait to buy your swimwear until it is actually warm enough to wear a bathing suit, you will likely be picking through whatever hasn't sold out already and desperately searching for your size.

My Favorite Natural Shoes & Accessories

As far as shoes & accessories go, natural materials, woven styles, and a neutral palette are hot right now. If you've been following along for a while now, then you have seen my love for woven styles in many Faith & Fancy posts! The above photo is from this recent post, but you can also see how I incorporate these accessories into my personal style in this post and this one. What can I say, I love this trend!

Spring Wardrobe Essentials

Happy Friday! Hope this week was a good one - with the arrival of spring how could it not be!? I am so excited for the change of seasons, especially in the wardrobe department. Spring represents renewal, newness, and freshness, and I think our wardrobe should reflect that. After a long winter some fresh, new pieces for spring are welcomed with open arms!

My Favorites from Miami

One week ago I was soaking up that Florida sunshine and living the life in Miami! Other than knowing that I was going to get some beautiful weather, I didn't know much of what to expect from Miami. To be honest, I wasn't sure if Miami was really my "scene" for lack of a better word, but I was very impressed. My only regret was that I didn't have enough time to explore everything Miami has to offer. Needless to say I will definitely be back!I was only there for about three full days, but it definitely was enough time to get a taste of the city and what it has to offer. I definitely left wanting more, but the beautiful thing is I'll just have to plan another trip back at some point! Not mad about that one bit. I wasn't able to do everything on my list, but the things I did do I loved and wanted to share them with you all! If you've never been to Miami, I highly recommend it. I think there is something for everyone, and if not at the very least it is a beautiful place to escape to in the cold winter months! Enjoy!

March Wishlist!

Hi friends, happy Friday! Hope you all had a good week and are welcoming the weekend with open arms. I am currently writing you from Miami International Airport, which sadly means that I'm heading home after such a great week in the Florida sunshine! I had a wonderful few days soaking up all the warm weather - it was just what I needed to get me through the rest of winter, which I am hoping is not much longer!

I'm crossing my fingers that I'll bring some warm weather back to NYC! Wouldn't we all love a little bit of that!? I am dying to break out some spring pieces. I got a little taste of it in Miami, but I am ready to ditch my winter wear for good. Spring has officially hit all the major retailers and it's about time it hits our own personal wardrobes! Here are some of my favorite pieces that have caught my eye this month so far. Enjoy!

The Conclusion to My 101 in 1001 List!

Wow. That is all I can fathom saying right now! If you have been following Faith & Fancy since 2016 then you know what this post is about to be about. If not, head to this post, read it, and then head back here - it will all make a lot more sense!

I cannot begin to believe that 2.75 years have gone by, or 1001 days, since I first shared my very ambitious 101 in 1001 List. I know it's cliche, but where does the time go!? Seriously. I still feel like it was yesterday that I was dreaming up all the things I wanted to do in almost three years time. I still vividly remember creating that list, and here we are at the completion of it. Crazy.

February Finds

Tomorrow is March....holy cow! February was clearly making up for how slow January went by. Can't say I'm even mad about it one bit. It means we are one month closer to being done with winter and onto spring!

I will have a little taste of spring next week as I am kicking off March by heading down to Florida for a few days! I am beyond excited to be escaping the cold and spend time with family. I am also planning on working on some fun spring content while down there, so stay tuned!

Until then, here are my February Finds! Enjoy!

The Essentials You Need from the Shopbop Sale

It's safe to say that out of all the sales that happen all year long, the Shopbop sales are my favorite! In my opinion they are the best out there. Shopbop is one of my favorite retailers, so it's no surprise that their sale ranks at the top of my list. Their selection is top notch & some of my favorite pieces in my closet are those I have gotten through Shopbop (and often during a Shopbop sale!).

Doing Things that Scare You

They always say you should do one thing a day that scares you. In reality do we do that.. no, probably not, but imagine where we would all be at in our lives if we did. It's food for thought for sure.

Over the past eight or so months, I've done a number of things that I think could be considered scary. I taught my first spin class, which let me tell you was way more intimidating than I had at first thought. I left my job. A job that was a really, really good job. I ended a relationship because I wasn't ready to give up on my dreams. A relationship that had been a pretty steady constant for the majority of my late teens & early twenties. Ending any relationship is scary, but saying goodbye to your best friend is terrifying. And after almost 25 years of living in Connecticut, I moved to New York City. A move I had dreamt about making, but with any move, comes change, and with any change comes a little bit of uncertainty & in some way, shape, or form a little bit of fear.

My Favorite Resort Picks

Every year, this is one of my favorite posts to craft! By this time of year I am jonesing for a warm weather getaway & of course the wardrobe that accompanies it! Every time I peruse the new arrivals section of my favorite retailers, I can't help but be drawn to all the resort pieces. The bright colors, flowy fabrics, and rattan details have me swooning!

I am hoping to be heading down south for some much needed sunshine and warm weather in the next few weeks & all this resort wear is giving me so much inspo. My suitcase will be full of all the warm weather things and I cannot wait. I'm so ready for bathing suits and sundresses.. now all I need is a tan! Who wants to join me!?

2.14.19

In full transparency, I wasn't planning on writing any Valentine's Day posts this year. Not for any one reason in particular, but more because I just didn't have much to say. But I guess the universe had other plans in store for me, because today has been one of the best days...

This is the best Valentine's Day yet, and it's not even over. Oh, and did I mention that I am completely and utterly single. But despite my relationship status, and despite that I will not be getting dressed up to go out to some fancy dinner to celebrate with the love of my life, I am SO happy. All day long I haven't stopped feeling this overwhelming happiness and gratitude.

As I was out running errands today, I couldn't stop smiling from ear to ear. Literally. People on the street, especially New Yorkers, probably thought I was crazy, or drunk in love. The truth is, I am a little drunk in love, but not in the expected way society defines that as. But instead, I am drunk in love with my life, and all the people in it, and all the things that bring me joy & happiness.

And that is why today has been the best day ever.

February 13, 2019

February Wishlist

Every year come this point in winter, I start to gravitate towards lighter, brighter, more feminie pieces. I think it is a combination of being over wearing bulky, dark winter attire, and being so ready for spring! I cannot wait to ditch my winter wardrobe for pretty spring pieces, who's with me!? Anyone in the dead of winter still, can relate to how dreamy that sounds.

Valentine's Day Gift Guide

Happy February! I just can't help but think of and get excited for Valentine's Day when this month rolls around. I know that everyone has their own feelings and opinions related to this holiday, but it has always held a special place in my heart. At the end of the day, it's a day dedicated to love, all types of love, and to me that is something that should always be celebrated!

January Finds

How are we already only a few days out from February!? January is always one of those weird months that feels like it comes and goes in the blink of an eye while simultaneously feeling like it has lasted forever. Does New Years Eve feel like an eternity ago or what? Either way, I hope you all had the best January and that this new year is off to a great start!

I decided to start a new series here on Faith & Fancy where at the end of each month I highlight and share all the things I've discovered over the course of that month. I'm always coming across new and interesting reads, recipes, bits of information, and sources of inspiration, and I thought who else would I rather share them with than all of you!

I hope they all bring you insight, joy, inspiration, or at the very least they are just a good read! So to kickoff the first of many monthly finds, here is all of the things that caught my attention this month. Enjoy!

101 in 1001 Update No. III

Here we are, exactly one month out from the completion of my first 101 in 1001 list! Crazy how times flies! My first 101 in 1001 list was crafted on June 3, 2016... yes 2016! Can you believe that? I certainly cannot. Almost three years have gone by (2.75 to be exact!) and it is amazing to see what I have accomplished in that time!

My last update was January of last year, so I thought another update a year later and 30 days out from the completion of this list would be the perfect time. It's so fun to reflect on the accomplishments made since January of last year, and to also see what I think I can still accomplish in the next four weeks. Thirty days isn't a ton of time, but I think there are definitely some things I can check off the list before my time is officially up. Wish me luck!

Of course come the official end of the list, I will look back on and reflect on all I have accomplished, and I will most definitely be crafting another list (!!). Who wants to join me!? Be on the lookout for both of those posts in the coming months, but until then here is a long overdue update! Enjoy!

A Little Bit of Altheisure

How are those 2019 health & wellness goals going for you!? And don't even tell me that you didn't make any.. because I know you're lying. Who doesn't set some type of health, wellness, or fitness goal for themselves at the start of a new year!? Maybe you don't broadcast it to the entire world, but I'm pretty sure everyone at the very least wants to try and start the year off on a good foot. Whether that means eating better, drinking more water, or hitting the gym, I support you and today I'm sharing how to do it in style. Even if you aren't working out, who doesn't love a good athleisure look? Enjoy!

Five Books to Read at the Start of a New Year

It's no surprise that words have this profound power to teach us, move us, and inspire us. I am a firm believer in their ability to change our lives, especially when they are perfectly crafted to do just that.  I love reading inspirational books all year round and especially at points in my life when I need to learn from their lessons. I am almost always left feeling inspired, with a new viewpoint and a little bit of hope.

Of course I suggest reading these types of books all year round, or when your heart needs them a little bit more, but I thought that they are also kind of perfect for the start of a new year. Who doesn't want a little (or big) dose of inspiration or a new mindset as we head into twenty nineteen? I know I most certainly am here for it, so without further adieu, here are five books to read at the start of this new year. Some I have read and loved, some I am currently reading, and some are on my list. Either way, all containing words that have the power to change, inspire, and move you. I hope you enjoy!

An Updated Skincare Routine

With the start of the new year, comes the arrival of any and everything health and wellness related. With that being said, I thought what better time to share my updated skincare routine with all of you! Over that past couple years I've really been focusing in on my skincare routine. It is something I feel is so very important for not only your skin today , but also your future self. Skincare can be an investment and isn't always the cheapest, but it is an investment I think is worth making every time. Your future self will thank you!

2019 Travel Wishlist!

One of my favorite things about the the arrival of January is planning out travel plans and wishes for the new year. I love making a wishlist of all the destinations I want to visit in the upcoming months - it leaves me feeling so inspired to get out there and see the world (and even destinations in my own backyard!).

January 09, 2019

Twenty Nineteen To-Do List

Last week I shared the intention I set for 2019 (go check it out here, if you haven't done so already!), and this week I wanted to share my 2019 to-do list. If you remember from last year, my new year to-do list is essentially a list of goals and things I would like to accomplish in this upcoming year. I had such a fun time crafting a list last year & then actually crossing off my accomplishments, that I knew I had to do it again this year.

I've started to stray away from making new year's resolutions... I feel like a list of goals is a better, more productive way to start the year. It not only helps you reflect on the things you want to accomplish in the next 365 days, but we all know that writing a list holds us more accountable and much more likely to successfully achieve those goals. My 2019 to-do list is just that and I cannot wait to start checking things off the list!

January 07, 2019

Loungewear Favorites

This time of year always, without fail makes me just want to cozy up indoors while wearing my favorite loungewear. Anyone else!? After the hustle and bustle of the holidays, a little R&R in January is much welcomed and needed!

January 04, 2019

2019, Year of Yes

Resolutions, goals, and to-do lists. I've done them all when past new years have rolled around. I like the direction and tone they set as we embark on a fresh start come January. I think it's so important to set yourself up for success in the new year by reflecting on and then writing down all the things you want to do, accomplish, or work towards in the days, weeks, and months that follow. I plan on doing just that this year as I've done many times before, but I'm also doing something new!

January 02, 2019

January Wishlist

January serves a a fresh start in more ways than one, and I can't help but feel a desire for a wardrobe refresh come the new year. After wearing all the plaid, red, and sparkles during the holiday season, it's always refreshing to trade those in for more updated, fresh pieces. I know I'm not the only one out there that likes to kick off the new year on a healthy note - clean eating, more exercise, etcetera - and I can't help but feel as though what you choose to wear can also help contribute to that spirit, mind, body balance. Look good, feel good as the saying goes!
