Luxe Gifts for Her

Gifts for the ladies in your life are here & this year they are quite luxe!! It wasn't my intention per say, but we are just going to go with it! After the last year, I think everyone deserves a little luxury, don't you agree!?

What I like the most about this gift guide, is that the price point varies greatly. There are definitely gifts if you are looking to splurge, however there are also a few that are much more reasonably priced. With that being said, each and every one of these gifts is elevated and would be a treat to either gift or to receive!

Gifts for Him

Once again it is the men's gift guide that is the first of the season here on Faith & Fancy! And it is once again ironic as I have no brothers, brother in laws, or special men in my life I am shopping for this season, oh well! These gift guides aren't for my benefit anyways & men are notoriously the hardest to shop for so I am happy to get it up here quickly. I hope that it helps you shop for the men in your life this holiday season. Truth be told I wish I was shopping for a Mr. this year, as I think these gifts are all really great!!

Falling for..

With the arrival of fall, always comes the arrival of so many pretty pieces. I am always swooning this time of year & my closet is just waiting to be updated with plush sweaters, transitional dresses, and fall footwear. Oh, and did I mention fresh denim - a forever favorite. It is a welcome change from summer wear.

I'm Running a Marathon!

I'm running a marathon!!

After many years of waiting, I can't believe I finally get to say that I am doing it! And not just any marathon, but the 50th New York City Marathon. I get to run through the streets of the city I call home, that I love more than anything else, and I get to do it with friends and family on the sidelines. It is truly going to be so special. I'm so excited it is finally happening, I think I could shout it from the rooftops!

If you know me well, or if you've been following along here on Faith & Fancy for a while, then you know that this has been a huge bucket list item for me for many years now. I ran my first 13.1 back in 2014, and many more half marathons were run in the years that followed. Although I can't pinpoint exactly when I decided I wanted to go for the full 26.2, it was at some-point between the years of 2014 and 2016. On June 2, 2016 I published this post - 101 in 1001 - a list of 101 things I wanted to accomplish in 1001 days. Running a marathon was on the top of the list.

May Wishlist

It's been a minute since I've done one of these posts, but we're back baby! The months that toe the line between two seasons are some of my favorites to curate wishlists for. It always gets me so excited for the upcoming season and for all the styles & fashion that accompany them. May is one of those months for me - it isn't technically summer, but summer is most certainly in the air - the anticipation is palpable!

The Edit: Sage Season

SHOP

To be completely honest, I don't typically gravitate towards the color green, however the prettiest shade of sage has been popping up everywhere, and I'm suddenly kind of into it. Despite my past history of indifference to green, sage keeps stealing my attention - I have to admit, I'm here for it.

I'd be surprised if you yourself haven't noticed the uptick in sage green this season, but in the instance that you haven't, I curated a list of my favorites as of late. I guarantee you're going to see it everywhere from here on out. Apparently it's the hot color of the season! I'm going to embrace it, and let sage green have her moment of fame.

"I'm So Glad I... "

So many times over the last twelve months, I’ve found myself saying, “I’m so glad I did this .. " and “thank God I did that”.

I've always tried my best to pack life to the brim and to live with a zest for life. The past days, weeks, and months have been nothing short of the biggest reminder of our lives to always keep doing just that.

All the Books I Read in 2020

At the start of last year, I set a goal to read at least twelve books over the course of twenty-twenty. By the end of last year I had a grand total of 21 books read, so  I think it's safe to say I not only accomplished that goal, but also surpassed it with flying colors!

Reading has always been such a beautiful escape, but in the many hard months of twenty-twenty it served not only as that but as so much more - a source of joy, hope, and much needed distraction. Books & stories are a gift in so many ways, and I am forever grateful for what they provided during one of the craziest years of our lives.

A note on being in love with your life

There is so much emphasis placed on love. Romantic love in particular. I'm not saying it's a bad thing by any means - romantic love is a beautiful, wonderful thing. It's a lot of beautiful, wonderful things actually. But you know what romantic love isn't?

It isn't everything.

For Lovers

Valentine's Day is right around the corner, and so a gift guide for lovers was in order! Of course a beautiful bouquet of flowers, a fancy assortment of chocolates, or a nice dinner are all classic and fail-proof gifts, but sometimes it's nice to switch it up. And we all know gifts for the men in our lives can often prove tricky, so I've also included some V-Day gift ideas for them too. I hope it helps!

January Wishlist

Anyone else feeling rather blah and uninspired in the fasion department lately? I think the monotony of rotating between the same pajamas and lounge wear is getting to me, which says a lot considering how much I love my pajama and lounge collection! I guess that's just bound to happen when there's not much to get dressed up for these days. Understandable but so very uninspiring.

Daydreaming of Travel

It goes without saying that there are so many things we have had to give up or alter because of covid. The list goes on & on and looks different for everyone. I have my own personal list of things I miss, but lately topping that list is travel. I miss exploring new places, planning out the next adventure, being in an airplane, soaking up different languages & cultures, taking in the beauty of the world, and having something to look forward to. I miss just being able to get up and go. When things get better and we embark on our new normal, traveling is something I will not take for granted for a second.

Things that Spark Joy: Week No. 1

The very first 'Things that Spark Joy' post of 2021! The start of the new year is giving me hope for many good things ahead, and these posts will help me to remember them all - big & small. As I mentioned in this post, it is my hopes that by the end of the year I will have 52 'Things that Spark Joy' posts. What a beautiful collection that will be!

A To-Do List for 2021

I don't do resolutions, but come the new year I do make a list of things I want to accomplish. A to-do list of sorts! Resolutions seem so lofty and unattainable, but a to-do list keeps me on track and contains things that can actually be crossed off. It's what I've been doing for the past few years now, and it's what works for me!

Favorite Things of Twenty Twenty

Last year was the first year I did a 'Favorite Things' of the year post and it was truthfully one of my favorites!! I've decided to make it a year end tradition, as it is such a fun and light way to look back on the year. These posts will without a doubt be blast to read back as the years go on!

Twenty twenty may not have been my favorite year, but it still contained lot of things I loved. Enjoy!

A Farewell to 2020

Since the birth of Faith & Fancy, come the end of every year, I craft a post looking back and reflecting on the past twelve months. It has become a year end tradition I cherish quite a lot and one that I look forward to. I love everything these farewells represent - gratitude, reflection, closure - and they are collectively some of my favorite posts. Having this collection of paragraphs, sentences, and words that represent years gone by is so special - each year it is a gift I am giving my future self, and that future self will forever be grateful for them.

With that being said, as we started approaching the end of twenty twenty, I felt paralyzed & overwhelmed thinking back on all that this year threw at us. I felt like I had a million things to say, but at the same time I felt so depleted that I just didn't know if the words would ever come.
