Fall Neutrals

All white looks have a special place in my summertime wardrobe, but if I’m being honest, I like them even more in the fall. To be seasonally appropriate, I tend to shift more towards cream or ecru versus crisp white & love playing with different textures to keep visual interest. There is just something so chic about dressing in all neutrals. I feel like I can take on the world! Don't you agree?

Pre-Fall '23

It always feels a little bit unnatural talking about fall before Labor Day weekend has come and gone, however I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel a little bit excited for what's to come. As we all know, I'm a summer girlie through and through, but as the summer starts to wane, I can start to appreciate the changes that a new season brings in. 

My Wishlist for Fall

At the beginning of every season, I like to do a roundup of all the new styles & pieces that are catching my eye. It not only gets me excited for the change in season, but it helps me take inventory of what styles I already have & which ones I want to add to my wardrobe. It's also helpful in setting the style tone for the next few months! 

Falling for..

With the arrival of fall, always comes the arrival of so many pretty pieces. I am always swooning this time of year & my closet is just waiting to be updated with plush sweaters, transitional dresses, and fall footwear. Oh, and did I mention fresh denim - a forever favorite. It is a welcome change from summer wear.

All in the Details...

I am a sucker for a head to toe black look. Just ask anyone that knows me well. It's without a doubt my most reached for combo during the fall and winter months. There's just something I'm so drawn to about it. It's never boring, but instead chic & classic, urban & edgy. Both empowering and melancholic. It suits every mood. You can blend in or stand out. Throw a red lip into the mix and you can probably take over the world. 

November Wishlist

Hello November. There are many resons I love November, mostly because it is my birthday month if I'm being honest, but also because of Thanksgiving, the shorter, cozier, and slower days, and this feeling that it is the heart of fall. NYC truly showed us the best of fall this past weekend with picture perfect foliage, 70 degree weather, and full sun - not one cloud could be spotted in the sky. It was as if the universe knew that our souls all needed that. 

A Fall Boot for Every Occasion

A good pair of boots is a nonnegotiable essential for the autumn season, and let's be honest for winter too. As everyone in the Northeast knows, they will literally carry you through the next six months - essentially they are a piece we will live in for half the year, so pick them well! 

Fall Reading List!

These have become some of my favorite posts to do this year! With 2020 being the year it has been, there has been a lot of reading going on. So far I have read fifteen books (!!), which is most certainly a record for me, and has already surpassed my goal of twelve books for the year. At this point, I've got my sights set on hitting twenty books, which I am pretty confident I can accomplish. I'm excited to see the grand total come the new year! 

September Wishlist

Don't even get me started on how I cannot believe it is already September... 

We will leave that conversation for a rainy day, but whether we believe it or not, September is upon us! We are running full steam ahead toward fall, and as much as my heart aches for the end of summer, I would be lying if I said a part of me wasn't a little excited for fall. 

Curating a Fresh Wardrobe for Fall

I think I speak for many when I say fall is one of my favorite seasons to shop & dress for. As far as fall in the Northeast goes, you get a little bit of everything - it could be 90 degrees one day and 60 the next (hello October in NYC), or it could snow - you never really know! It's always a little unpredictable, but that's also what makes it kind of great. A well put together fall wardrobe is made up of a little bit of everything, from dresses to sweaters, denim to leather, and mules to boots.

As the seasons have changed, so has my mindset in regards to how I want to shop for not only this season, but all to come. I've had a shift in how I want to curate my seasonal wardrobes from here on out. My plan moving forward is to be more mindful and selective about the pieces I am purchasing, and to select timeless, quality pieces that I will reach for again and again. It is my hope that these pieces will have a place in my wardrobe for years to come! Selecting classic, versatile pieces allows for a ton of creativity when putting together looks & the options are truly endless.

Hello October

Hello again! I always forget how busy & jam packed (in the best possible ways) summer is! This summer was one for the books - many beach days, time with family and friends, R&R, and all the good things that come along with the summer months. It's always hard to part with summer but this rings especially true after a summer as great as this past one was!

Velvet was hot this time last year, and it looks like it is back again & here to stay! I must say, I'm a fan of velvet and always have been. To me it's a classic fabric, and although it might be uber popular right now, it is timeless and will forever be around. 

November Wishlist!

Whenever November rolls around, I find myself reaching for cozy, classic pieces. Warm, oversized sweaters, and tried and true coats are in heavy rotation this time of year. Something about late fall has me gravitating towards things that are comforting and familiar - and that includes my wardrobe as well. This Everlane sweater looks like something I could live in for the next five months, as does this White & Warren cashmere cardigan (to die for).

Happy Halloween & last day of October! Can you believe it?? Autumn is in full swing by this time of the season and so is all that fall fashion. Fall is one of my favorite seasons to dress for and I always love the classics, however it's always fun to experiment with pieces that are a little more in. Over the past couple months I've seen quite a few styles that keep popping up - some a little more trendy than others - but all super hot for fall. 

I wanted to share some of those styles I've been seeing non-stop this season (and that I'm totally loving!). The beautiful thing is that even with trendy pieces, there is still one out there for everyone. There is always a way to incorporate more popular styles into your own personal wardrobe - just have fun with it!

Hi guys, happy Monday and happy first day of October! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend -it was such a beautiful one. I was back home in Connecticut and spent it doing all the fall things with family and friends. Nothing better! Weekends like this past one make getting back into the swing of things that much harder. Going to keep it short & sweet today because it has just been one of those Mondays.. anyone else!?

My Picks from Shopbop's Event of the Season Sale

It can't not be a happy Wednesday when Shopbop's Event of the Season Sale goes live! It truly is one of the best sales of the year and is going on for four days... aka plenty of time to find your favorites, place an order, and probably repeat that process again (you know it's true!). I know I say that about what probably seems like every sale, but if I had to pick, the Shopbop sales are definitely my favorite. There is just such a great selection of pieces from all your favorite brands, for various price points and it's (almost) all on sale! You really can't beat it.

Autumn Bucket List

Can you believe it is already fall!? Every year summer comes and goes so fast - you would think I would be used to it, but it still amazes me. As much as it makes me sad to say goodbye to summer, I am equally as excited and happy to be welcoming fall back. It is truly one of the most wonderful times of year in the northeast & I'm so happy to be able to spend this season up north. I'm extra excited to be spending autumn here in the City this year. I've heard only good things about fall in New York, so I can't wait to see for myself!
