Things of Note

Hi! This is a new style of post, but one that I think might find itself a permeant place here on Faith & Fancy. It was born out of a need and want to share all these things & ideas that are floating around in my head, and not knowing how to get them out to you all. It's basically a brain dump of new & noteworthy things that I've been meaning to share, or things that seem more urgent ... and by urgent I mean great sales that must not be missed!

If this feels unorganized and all over the place, it probably is. ha. Welcome to the inside of my mind! Nonetheless I think it's the most efficient way to get out the variety of things I think are worthy of sharing. I hope you enjoy!

Shopbop Style Event Fall '23

Alright friends, at this point you know the drill. The Shopbop sales are some of the best in the game, and in true fashion this one has some exceptional pieces. My advice is always pretty consistent when it comes to tackling these sales - in my opinion, now is the time to either stock up on basics, i.e denim, outerwear, footwear,  or it's the time to splurge on something that is a higher ticket item. 

Fall Neutrals

All white looks have a special place in my summertime wardrobe, but if I’m being honest, I like them even more in the fall. To be seasonally appropriate, I tend to shift more towards cream or ecru versus crisp white & love playing with different textures to keep visual interest. There is just something so chic about dressing in all neutrals. I feel like I can take on the world! Don't you agree?

Hi hi friends - a trend alert coming your way. The color red is having a moment right now! If you haven’t noticed yet, I promise you are going to start seeing it everywhere. Red is hot hot hot right now!

Early Fall Shoe Edit

Early fall footwear has a special place in my heart. These coming weeks are the last hoorah before we commit our feet to boots, or at the very least very closed toe shoes, for the next six months. I personally like to take this short window as an opportunity to go big or go home when it comes to styling my feet (& take it as an excuse to pick up a new pair or two!) These are a few early fall shoe styles that have been catching my eye for one last stroll around the block!

Pre-Fall '23

It always feels a little bit unnatural talking about fall before Labor Day weekend has come and gone, however I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel a little bit excited for what's to come. As we all know, I'm a summer girlie through and through, but as the summer starts to wane, I can start to appreciate the changes that a new season brings in. 

What to Wear in the South of France

Wondering what to wear in the French Riviera? Well I've got you covered. The South of France is a luxe travel destination but with its proximity to the Mediterranean there is still a breeziness to the styles worn. Think lots of linen, flowy dresses, swimwear & chic coverups, straw bags galore, and stylish sun protection.

In the Mood for Stripes

Stripes have forever been are a classic. They are a wardrobe staple and a pattern that offers endless versatility & possibility. I personally have always been drawn to a good stripe, and if it's a blue & white stripe, well I'm done for. I'm a total sucker for classic aesthetics. 

Spring '23 Preview

To get myself through these last dreadful days of winter, I've put together a little sampling of all the pieces catching my eye for spring. Without fail, by this time of year, I am in the biggest wardrobe rut. Officially over winter and all the pieces that have kept me warm all season, I find myself looking forward to better weather and the shift in clothing that accompanies it. C'mon spring, we are ready for you!!

The Black Tie Edit

Next month, on the first weekend of 2023, I'll be heading to a good friends wedding. What better way to kick off the new year!? I am so excited to see my friend marry the love of her life, and I'm even more excited to get all dolled up. The dress code is black tie, which feels super special not only because of its formality, but because black tie events are few and far between these days. I'm worried that the act of dressing up is slowly becoming a lost art, but that's a discussion for another day.

Spotlight On: Platform Heels

Standing only five feet tall, I have always had an infinity for heels. Being as petite as I am, they have always been a wardrobe piece that I have never had to think twice about wearing. Throw a pair on me with any heel hight & I still won't be that tall. Although sidebar - I am a big believer & supporter of wearing whatever you want regardless of what anyone thinks - I think a tall girl in a heel is a vibe & I am here for it. Wear what you want & do not apologize for it. End of story. 

My Wishlist for Fall

At the beginning of every season, I like to do a roundup of all the new styles & pieces that are catching my eye. It not only gets me excited for the change in season, but it helps me take inventory of what styles I already have & which ones I want to add to my wardrobe. It's also helpful in setting the style tone for the next few months! 

Summer Whites

I'm not a total stickler for the rules - I definitely push the 'no white after Labor Day and before Memorial Day' rule - but when summer officially hits, I am full steam ahead with summer whites. Head to toe white is my vibe in the summer months. I am here for it.

Ah the summer bag - a piece I have loved collecting over the years. The summer months allow a little more variety in our bag choices compared to other seasons, which allows for a little more fun! I've been keeping an eye out for the best summer bags of this season, and I have to admit, I'm impressed! 

The Edit: Bougainvillea

Maybe it's because it is officially spring, or because the weather has been anything but seasonal lately, but regardless I have been drawn to all the bright colors! This is quite the one-eighty from my nyc winter uniform - IYKYK - and a welcomed change! 

A Spring Closet Refresh

 

I don't know about you, but I am so over the current contents of my closet. Anyone else? I think what it actually comes down to is that I bored with my winter wardrobe - I am ready to pack it away & say farewell until next year. I am antsy and growing impatient for spring weather to arrive for good! It has made an appearance or two - either to give us a preview of what's coming or to just tease us, unsure of which - but regardless I was very much smitten!

Falling for..

With the arrival of fall, always comes the arrival of so many pretty pieces. I am always swooning this time of year & my closet is just waiting to be updated with plush sweaters, transitional dresses, and fall footwear. Oh, and did I mention fresh denim - a forever favorite. It is a welcome change from summer wear.

May Wishlist

It's been a minute since I've done one of these posts, but we're back baby! The months that toe the line between two seasons are some of my favorites to curate wishlists for. It always gets me so excited for the upcoming season and for all the styles & fashion that accompany them. May is one of those months for me - it isn't technically summer, but summer is most certainly in the air - the anticipation is palpable!
