What to Wear in the South of France

What to wear in the south of france.

Wondering what to wear in the French Riviera? Well I've got you covered. The South of France is a luxe travel destination but with its proximity to the Mediterranean there is still a breeziness to the styles worn. Think lots of linen, flowy dresses, swimwear & chic coverups, straw bags galore, and stylish sun protection.

Daydreaming of Travel

It goes without saying that there are so many things we have had to give up or alter because of covid. The list goes on & on and looks different for everyone. I have my own personal list of things I miss, but lately topping that list is travel. I miss exploring new places, planning out the next adventure, being in an airplane, soaking up different languages & cultures, taking in the beauty of the world, and having something to look forward to. I miss just being able to get up and go. When things get better and we embark on our new normal, traveling is something I will not take for granted for a second.

Must Do's in Lisbon, Portugal

It's been almost two years since my trip to Lisbon, so it's about time I got around to sharing some tidbits from my trip! I'm embarrassed it has taken me so long, but today's post was born in the spirit of staying on track with my goals and feeling inspired to revisit past travels. Lisbon was a marvelous city to explore, and I couldn't think of a better place to kick off the first of many travel posts to come. I hope you are just as excited as I am - stay tuned!

2020 Travel Wishlist

This has quickly become one of my favorite blog posts of the year & one that I so look forward to crafting! I can't believe that this is already the third year I am writing this - you can see last year's post here & 2018's here! Not only is it fun to daydream about where my travels will take me each year, but it's also great to look back at the end of each year and see where I was lucky enough to go.

What I Wore in California

Instead of my usual pre-travel packing list post, I thought I would switch things up a bit and share what I actually wore on my trip. I still love a good packing list post, but thought it would be fun to see how the looks all came together after the fact! Truth be told, some pieces I pack for trips end up staying in my suitcase for whatever reason, so this post is a true reflection of what actually got worn!

This deemed particularly true this past trip out west! So much of what I packed sadly never got worn, not because I didn't want to, but more so because the weather was not quite what I had bargained for. As you will see in the photo's below, I often found myself wearing for all the layers and my jean jacket was never far. Needless to say it was chillier than anticipated! Keep that in mind if you ever find yourself traveling to the Bay Area - my biggest recommendation would be to pack pieces that mix & match easily and are good for layering!

So without further adieu, here is everything I wore out in California last month! Well almost everything... everything meaning the looks I was able to snap a pic in, enjoy!

Three Days in Charleston!

TRAVEL DAY

Depending on when you are traveling in, this day could be either a full day or just half a day! If it's a full day, skip ahead to day one below!

If it's only half the day or the evening, then I would suggest spending the day checking into your hotel (I will forever recommend The Dewberry - see more in this post), getting settled, unpacking, and then freshening up before heading to grab a bite to eat! For dinner, or a late lunch on your first day in Charleston I would recommend Leon's Oyster Shop!

Leon's is the perfect place to kick off your stay in Charleston. It's casual, cool atmosphere and really good food are ideal for unwinding after a day of travel. Get the fried chicken sandwich - you can thank me later!

Where to Eat in Charleston!

On my first trip to Charleston about a year ago, one of the most pleasant surprises about the trip was the incredible food scene. I had heard good things & had picked up restaurant recommendations here and there, but I had no idea just how big of a food scene Charleston had. Not only are there so many restaurants, but they are all so good & come highly recommended!

During that first trip there last year, I didn't have one bad meal and came home raving about the food to anyone who would listen! Needless to say, when I headed back to Charleston a couple of weeks ago, I was beyond excited to eat my heart out at both new to me restaurants and also a few I had loved last time. Thank god my girlfriend who I was traveling with is just as big of a foodie as I am - we took full advantage of everything Charleston's restaurant scene had to offer. To say we indulged in amazing food would be an understatement!

My Favorites from Miami

One week ago I was soaking up that Florida sunshine and living the life in Miami! Other than knowing that I was going to get some beautiful weather, I didn't know much of what to expect from Miami. To be honest, I wasn't sure if Miami was really my "scene" for lack of a better word, but I was very impressed. My only regret was that I didn't have enough time to explore everything Miami has to offer. Needless to say I will definitely be back!I was only there for about three full days, but it definitely was enough time to get a taste of the city and what it has to offer. I definitely left wanting more, but the beautiful thing is I'll just have to plan another trip back at some point! Not mad about that one bit. I wasn't able to do everything on my list, but the things I did do I loved and wanted to share them with you all! If you've never been to Miami, I highly recommend it. I think there is something for everyone, and if not at the very least it is a beautiful place to escape to in the cold winter months! Enjoy!

Exploring Newport, R.I.

New England is home to many seaside gems, each one about just at beautiful and full of coastal charm as the next - so much so that it often is hard to play favorites. However, after spending the beginning of last week there, I can assure you that Newport definitely falls near the top on my list of top new England destinations. Newport is such a quick trip from Connecticut, which makes for a great weekend getaway or even just a quick day trip!

Where to Eat in Barcelona

When I first traveled to Spain back in 2016 one of the things that I was pleasantly surprise at and one that remained most memorable upon my arrival home, was the food. It was so good and so it became one of the things I was looking forward to most when I returned last month.

At the beginning of June when I headed back to Barcelona, it was again the food that I looked forward to the most! Once again it did not disappoint - if anything, it was even better this go around. With a little bit of luck & a little bit of research, we found some of the best spots with even better food. I always appreciate restaurant and bar recommendations when I head to a new destination, and I wanted to do the same for you guys! Below are my favorites for the lively city of Barcelona. Enjoy!

Summer Travel Destinations

Hi guys, I'm back, finally! I had the most incredible two weeks traveling in Europe - if you were following along on Instagram, then I know you saw some of the highlights! I am of course sad that the trip is now behind me, but I am so happy for the memories I'll forever hold close. It is always nice to get back into a routine after being away for so long, but traveling always leaves me wanting more! It never quenches my desire to travel, but only makes it that much stronger. There are so many places out there to explore and I find myself constantly adding new destinations to my list.

A Love Affair with Charleston

My oh my, where do I even begin! Charleston you were an absolute dream. Three days was all it took for me to fall head over heels in love with you!

I had a pretty good feeling prior to my trip that the Holy City would quickly become a favorite, but I had no idea just how much it would speak to me. It's funny how you feel instant connections with certain places. Paris & New York are some of those places for me, and now I gladly add Charleston to the list!
