Exploring Newport, R.I.

New England is home to many seaside gems, each one about just at beautiful and full of coastal charm as the next - so much so that it often is hard to play favorites. However, after spending the beginning of last week there, I can assure you that Newport definitely falls near the top on my list of top new England destinations. Newport is such a quick trip from Connecticut, which makes for a great weekend getaway or even just a quick day trip!

A few days in Newport was the perfect mini vacation and I was quickly reminded all over again of why I love summers in New England. Situated right on the coast, Newport's coastal charm, fresh seafood, and beauty are easy to fall in love with. And I can't forget the grandeur of it's gilded age mansions - a uniqueness that makes Newport stand out from the many other similar New England seaside towns. It had been a couple years since my last trip to Newport, but I definitely plan on making it there at least once a summer!

As always, I love sharing all the things, and in this case places, that bring me happiness. Although I was only there for a few days, I took note of my favorite things to do, places to see, and of course all the best places to wine & dine. If you are in the New England area and looking for a little getaway I cannot recommend Newport enough. Check out all my favorites below and enjoy!
