I am so happy to finally be sharing our bathroom renovation!! The major design changes such as paint, countertops, fixtures, and hardware have been done since about August, and the rest of the design details were finished up soon after that, so needless to say it's about time this beautiful new bathroom made it's online debut!
For those of you that don't know what this bathroom looked like prior to this update, let's just say it wasn't the prettiest. I don't have a before picture (which is probably for the best), but just try to imagine natural wood finished cabinets, and a god awful blue laminate counter top... yes, blue. We did our best to work with it, and I think we did a nice job when it came to decorating, but despite our best efforts no amount of decor could draw the eye away from those standout blue counters of the early nineties. We knew for a while that the bathroom needed a fresh update, and we even knew the exact aesthetic and design we wanted, so it basically became a matter of just doing it. This summer we finally decided to go for it - and it was the best decision ever!
As you can tell from the pictures above, the finished product is near perfection. It came out just as I had envisioned it - fresh, bright, beautiful, and elegant. I absolutely love it and could not be happier with how it turned out. For the most part, the renovation itself was fairly simple. The major change was updating the countertops, and boy what a difference it made! We knew we wanted the look of Carrera marble, but we didn't like the potential for etching and staining with the marble, so we went with quartz instead. It was the best decision - the counters are beautiful and really made the difference! After that everything else was pretty much cosmetic. We went with Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Gray for the walls, painted the vanity with a fresh coat of white, updated the faucet and vanity hardware, swapped out the old lighting fixtures for new ones, and added a beautiful mirror frame. I am so obsessed with how it all turned out!
The finishing touches really just pulled the space together and gave a really polished look. My mom and I are huge fans of HomeGoods and Marshalls for pretty much everything, especially for home decor. My mom in particular is in and out of Marshalls like it's her job, so it's no surprise that the majority of the decor items were found and purchased there. You just can't beat the prices and wide selection of amazing items. It's too good! The only downside to shopping there is I can't track down exactly what we got, but I've found similar items and linked them below! Whether you're doing a complete bathroom renovation or just a little update, check them out (or head to your local Homegoods!) Hope you're feeling inspired by our beautiful new bathroom - I just can't get enough of it!

ReplyDeleteThis bathroom looks impressive and I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. That is why I am of the opinion that it's so important in the case of renovation to have bathrooms specialist who will know how to make such a bathroom with due diligence. Congratulations on your taste and decor, because it's great.
