The Hugo Spritz

It was almost a year ago that I was first introduced to the Hugo Spritz via Ashley Kane - she had been honeymooning in Italy when she discovered this new bubbly cocktail. I was very intrigued & made a mental note that I would have to try it for myself! Lucky for me, I had a trip to Italy coming up that very next month, and I was determined to seek out the Hugo Spritz. 

Well I did just that! It wasn't hard to find and it was love at first sip. 

I still remember that exact evening like it was yesterday - we were enjoying our cocktails al fresco, with views of Mount Vesuvius and the sun setting into the sea. It was the end of one of the best days of that trip and I'll even go as far as saying the best of last year, and it was the day my love affair with the Hugo Spritz began. 

Since sadly none of us will be vacationing to Italy anytime in the foreseeable future, we just have to bring a little slice of Italy to us for now. The Hugo Spritz is just that for me, and makes the most refreshing drink on a hot summer day. I hope you enjoy! 

The Hugo Spritz

Fill glass half full with ice & half full with prosecco of your choice 

Place juice of one lime in glass

Pour generous amount of St. Germain into glass 

Top with a splash of San Pellegrino

Stir together & garnish with fresh mint

Sip & enjoy!
