Friday Finds No. 21

Happy Friday friends and long time now see! Sorry for being a little bit M.I.A as of late - between end of summer festivities and work it's been harder to bring you fresh content, but I promise to be better! A little hiatus has helped fuel the creative fire in me and I can't wait to bring new exciting posts to Faith & Fancy as summer nears a close and fall starts to roll in. Stay tuned!

With that being said, I hope you are all soaking in the last few weeks of summer. It has been just beautiful here in New England and I am truly trying to make the most of it. I spent the last few days up in Boston, which was such a treat, but I am also really loving these lazy August days as well. I hope you are all doing the same - a little bit of travel and a little bit of R&R - doesn't get much better. Whichever you have in store for the weekend, I hope it's a good one! Enjoy!

Fall Denim Trends // As much as I love my white denim in the summer months, I always look forward to darker washes come fall. September will forever remind me of picking out a fresh new pair of jeans while doing back to school shopping as a kid. It was always a favorite of mine, and the smell of denim brings me right back to my youth! As we start to see the fall trends, it is safe to say that there is no shortage of fun denim styles this season - I am totally feeling it! I've linked some styles that I've got my eye on below, be sure to take a look!

48 Hours in Watch Hill // I've expressed my love for Watch Hill before, so I was thrilled when I stumbled upon this article. Staying at the Ocean House is a dream of mine, and reading through how to spend 48 hours there made me want to make it happen even more! I wanted to share because I thought it would be a perfect for anyone looking for last minute Labor Day plans, or it would even be perfect for a weekend getaway in September. Check it out!

Travel Without Being Afraid // Cannot even begin to express how much I love this. SO much yes. It was exactly a year ago exactly that I was preparing to go on a month long trip to Europe. I was over-the-moon excited for the adventure I was about to embark on, and yet everytime I expressed that excitement to friends, family, or even strangers, it was always matched with fear. This fear was expressed by others, not me, in words that sounded something like this... "Aren't you afraid?" and "Are you sure you still want to go?". My response was always the same - a solid no to the first question and a hell yes to the later. With the attacks that many European nations had faced, I guess I can't blame people for questioning if I still wanted to follow through with my travels. However, every single time the question was asked, I couldn't help but think about what a tragedy it would be to not go experience all that the world has to offer. It would be letting hate and fear win and what a tragedy indeed. As you all know, I had the adventure of a lifetime and can't even imagine having stayed home because of fear. I'll leave you with my favorite line from the entire article... "Cocooning yourself with familiarity is a disservive to the wonderful, brave, empowered person you could become. Rest assured, the world is more beautiful than it is dangerous." Now go explore the world my friends!
