Army Vest

I can't even believe I'm about to say this, but with fall right around the corner, it is time to start switching out our bright summer pieces for some more seasonally appropriate items (sigh..). I wish it could be summer forever, but since it can't, I will just have to start looking forward to the things I love about fall, which in all honesty is quite a few - army vests included! I love a good cargo, army inspired piece which is the exact inspiration behind this post.

Since it is very much still summer, I wanted to share a look that reflected that, but also would gear us up for the month ahead. September in New England is often just an extension of summer - as far as weather goes - so heavy sweaters and riding boots tend to be pushing it. September has become one of my favorite months, I think in large part because of how amazing the weather is. It puts June to shame!

A utility style vest is a good place to start in these early September weeks and pairs great with a pair of distressed boyfriend jeans and a sweater tank. It's easy layering and can easily be removed if the weather warms up a little too much. If you all know me, you know I'll be hanging on to my sandals for as long as possible, so those are my go to choice until I'm forced to trade them in for boots. Throw in an oversized clutch for a bit of color or texture and you're ready to walk out the door.

Although this look doesn't scream summer, it also doesn't scream fall, which is a good place to be as we head into September. Don't worry, those looks are coming! Untill then, I'm trying to soak up summer as much as I can in these last few moments, and I hope you are too. Enjoy!
