Day to Night Look

Hi friends, hope your week is off to a great start! I wanted to share with you all how I do a day-to-night look because I feel like transitioning an outfit from day to night can be a bit tricky! How do you put together an outfit that is appropriate for both coffee with your girlfriends and drinks & dinner with your man? A bit challenging, sure, but also something that can easily be mastered! I am thrilled to share with you some of my tricks for transitioning from day to night, and I am certain you'll be a pro in no time at all. Let's do it!

When selecting an outfit that will transition you from day to night, I always start by picking out the base of the outfit. What I mean by that is the pieces in the outfit that will stay throughout the entire course of the day. From there, you can easily play around with accessories that will dress up or dress down your outfit to make it more appropriate for whichever occasion. Starting with a neutral base is probably the easiest, but anything will work. For my base look above, I chose white denim and a white off the shoulder top. I am loving all white outfits these days. They are pretty, light, and airy for the spring and summer months, and make the perfect base for transitioning from day to night.

Jewelry is a major player in successfully transforming an outfit from day to night. The key with jewelry is to pick pieces that can work all day long, and don't require any swapping out. Switching jewelry throughout the day is too much fuss in my opinion and sounds like a recipe for it getting lost at some point! Find classic, simple, and beautiful jewelry that will complement your look both day and night. My go-to for this is jewelry from AUrate - New York . All of their jewelry is stunning, timeless, and of such high quality - simply put, you just don't really need anything else. Put it on in the morning and it will carry you gracefully through the day into the night. If I'm being honest, you might never want to take it off! I love their entire line, so it is hard for me to pick favorites, but if I had to the gold bar necklaceasymmetric pearl earrings, skinny cuff, and asymmetric pearl bracelet might just be the winners! They all complement each other and the look perfectly, adding just the right finishing touches to the entire outfit.

Once you have your base pieces and jewelry picked out the rest comes down to accessories. The right accessories have the power to dress any outfit up or down, and can easily be swapped in and out to get the right look. I showcased the pieces I would reach for when getting ready for a casual lunch or a day of shopping on the left in the picture above. A slouchy leather tote, easy neutral slides, and the perfect summertime straw hat are essentials! Come nighttime those accessories can easily be swapped out for a sexy block heel, polished crossbody bag, and of course a bold red lip. Perfect for a night out on the town or any occasion that calls for being a little bit dressier. It's as easy as that!

I hope that this has helped take some of the fear out of transitioning an outfit from day to night and maybe you even found some new pieces to add to your wishlist! I have linked all of the pieces below by their corresponding look for you to take a look at and check out. If anyone has any other tips or tricks for transitioning from day to night I would love to hear - feel free to share! I hope you've enjoyed and as always thank you for stopping by. I appreciate it more than you know!
