Blue & White Stripes for Fall

This is old news for many of you, but for those of you who might be new here let me tell you something .. I love blue and white stripes (and white jeans!). It is a classic combo and a look that certainly won't be going anywhere anytime soon. However, it is also a style that I associate more with summer than I do any other season. With summer over, I wanted to find a way to incorporate my love for blue and white stripes into my wardrobe in a way that was appropriate for the season. I'm just not ready to let them go quite yet! 

I stumbled upon this adorable top a couple weeks ago and knew it had to be mine. The details on this shirt are everything I could ask for in a top - ruffles, eyelet trim, and of course blue and white stripes! Gap you know how to make a good one! Despite its slightly summery vibes, I was determined to make it work for fall, and I knew one piece that would do the trick - an army jacket! 

Army inspired jackets are huge for fall this year, as they often are, and I knew that it would complement the blue and white stripes perfectly. The jacket itself has perfectly placed details and adds just the right amount of balance to the entire look. With those summertime temps still lingering around, I have a feeling this look will be worn on repeat before it's time to take out our heavy duty fall pieces - think, heavy sweaters and riding boots. I for one am perfectly content easing my way into fall and this look makes the transition easy!
