All the Books I Read in 2020

At the start of last year, I set a goal to read at least twelve books over the course of twenty-twenty. By the end of last year I had a grand total of 21 books read, so  I think it's safe to say I not only accomplished that goal, but also surpassed it with flying colors!

Reading has always been such a beautiful escape, but in the many hard months of twenty-twenty it served not only as that but as so much more - a source of joy, hope, and much needed distraction. Books & stories are a gift in so many ways, and I am forever grateful for what they provided during one of the craziest years of our lives.

I read so many good books over the course of last year, that I couldn't help but want to share them all with you. So here is the list of all the books I've read this year- all twenty-one of them! I hope you enjoy and maybe even add a book or two to your list!

Twenty Twenty Reads

3/5 Stars
Honestly, not something I probably would've picked up on my own, but gave it a go because of a book club I'm in. I ended up liking it much more than I originally thought I would! It definitely is a book that keeps you guessing until the end & leaves you a little mind blown!

As a lover of historical fictions, I knew this book would be right up my ally, but my oh my I had no idea just how much I would love it.

Read this book in less than 72 hours, and sobbed when it ended. Beautiful storytelling, that makes you feel all the feels. A highlight so far this year.

I was late to the game on this one, I know. Admittedly I decided to read it when I heard it was coming out as a mini-series on Hulu, however Hulu series or not, I think it is a story everyone should read. It deals with complex issues, but is an easy read and one I couldn't put down. Highly recommend!

And having the Hulu series to look forward to upon completion of the book is fun too!

The most recent release from my favorite author was based around the Ritz in Paris, so I knew I would love. Paris, the Ritz, and multiple love stories make this one a winner! What's not to love!?

After finishing The Light We Lost (and loving it so much!), I knew I had to read the author's other book asap. This read easily lived up to my expectations and was another one that was a moving, beautiful story. Jill Santopolo is a beautiful storyteller & has quite a way with words! Will forever be reading her books - I cant recommend them enough!

I bought this book last summer, and truth be told this was my second attempt at reading it. It was a little bit hard to get into in the beginning, but once I did, I really liked it! It wasn't what I was expecting, but it pleasantly surprised me. I would definitely recommend!

I loved this author's debut novel, so I knew I had to read this one as soon as it came out. This story was such a delight and couldn't have been a more perfect read while in quarantine. It transported me to some of my favorite places & is a beautiful little love story - exactly what my heart needed at this time.

The first of my summer reads! I had high hopes for this one - it didn't fall flat per se but it was just different than I expected. Still a cute, easy beach read overall!

4/5 Stars
I love a good Elin Hilderbrand book, and this one quickly became one of my favorites of hers! It's murder mystery meets rosé, wealth, and summer in New England - oh and it has a hint of a love triangle. What could be better!? Add it to your list asap.

Beatriz Williams can do no wrong in my opinion. I have yet to meet one of her books that I haven't loved, and this one is no different! It is a perfect summer read, enjoyed best with your toes in the sand.

This one ended up being much different than expected, but in a good way! I didn't love it initially, but there is a major twist, which is what did it for me. I won't give anything away but worth getting to the twist - the story takes off from there!

Hands down my favorite book of the summer, maybe even of the year! Loved everything about this one - the storyline, the characters, the concept the story revolves around, the details at the beginning of each chapter. Definitely a forever favorite and the type of story I needed at that point in time last year. Five stars from me!

The first book I've read by Elizabeth Gilbert, and it was a standout! I love the strong female characters in this read, the fact that it's set in old New York, and the story's evolution over time. Highly recommend! I will without a doubt be adding all of Elizabeth Gilbert's books to my to-read list.

From the author of The Devil Wears Prada comes this pleasantly entertaining read! I recommend if you're looking for an easy, breezy read, especially if you're a lover of tennis.

Would give this book 10 stars if I could. Hands down my favorite book of twenty-twenty, and honestly maybe ever..? A heartbreaking, but beautiful story of love, courage, and fighting for what is right. Truly a story I believe everyone should read in their lifetimes.

Not my favorite of the year, to be honest! I don't know what it was about it exactly, but I felt like it was little overhyped. If you're into murder mysteries you might like it!

4/5 Stars
Knew this one was going to be right up my alley! I love the concept - the fact that we never know where we will be in five years - but also love that it takes place in my favorite city. A good read for anyone still trying to figure things out!

2/5 Stars
It's rare for me to give anything less than three stars, so I guess that says a lot about how I felt about this one. This book was an interesting concept, I will give it that, but I don't know, something just fell flat here. It was almost like I was reading a bunch of different short stories, and that's what thew me.

4/5 Stars
I read Winter Street last Christmas, the first of the series, and was hooked! I waited till this past Christmas to read Winter Stroll and loved it just as much as I knew I would. It's a story set around Christmas on Nantucket - what could be better!

3/5 Stars
A very cute and charming love story. A bit predictable, but if you can get past that it's overall enjoyable and worth the read!
